Established in 1945 (as the Welfare State was about to take a massive leap forward), we exist to promote the highest possible standards in the delivery of welfare to those who need it.

One of our prime goals is to ensure that there is a consistently ethical, competent and confident performance by those in the front line of welfare work. It means establishing and maintaining high levels of professionalism among the providers of welfare advice and support - to the ultimate benefit of those receiving that advice and support.
